One of my favorite beverages to drink in the summer is iced tea. I always order it when I go out to a restaurant but I rarely make it at home. I feel like it takes too much time and it never tastes the same. I was super excited to find out that I can use my Keurig brewer machine to make my favorite cold beverages too, including my love for iced tea.
My husband and I received our Keurig brewer for Christmas, and we could not believe how much it changed our lives. Our favorite coffee right at our fingertips in just a few minutes. We are truly addicted to it, we don’t know how we lived without it.
However, I live in the bright and sunny desert of Phoenix, Arizona. Right now, that means it doesn’t cool down at night, so even when you wake up it is already pretty hot outside. Using my Keurig brewer to make a hot cup of coffee doesn’t sound that appealing at all during these times. But brew over ice? Yes! I can still use my Keurig brewer to #brewitup. Brew a quick and cold beverage over ice and run out the door. The #brewoverice includes so many beverages to choose from. Iced coffee, teas and lemonades. These beverages are great for any occasion and can be enjoyed by both kids and adults.
I chose Vitamin Burst K-cups in Acai Berry Iced Fruit Brew and Snapple Peach tea. I tried them both and I’m in love! However, I thought that I would get creative and brew both teas and have a nice tall glass of Acai Berry and White Peach tea with mint. It was beyond delicious! I made it and enjoyed it in the backyard with the sun going down, the temperature staying high and my thirst being quenched. Bonus, the Vitamin Burst K-cups are full of antioxidants and vitamin C. Gotta love that.
I found my brew over ice K-cups at Wal-mart where I also found my cute plastic mason jar. It is important when you brew over ice that you use a plastic cup or tumbler.
So what to do with all those Keurig cups that have accumulated because you can’t stop brewing? Did you know Keurig has it’s own recycling program? The Grounds to Grow program offers a way for K-cup users to return used cups for processing and re-use. You can learn more about it here: https://www.groundstogrowon.com/keurig/home.html
