Hello My Cooking Spot readers! I’m so excited to be the newest contributor around these parts. I’m Jenna, and I’m a food blogger over at A Savory Feast. I blog about just about everything food-related, from recipes to kitchen tips and tricks to foodie road trip ideas.
I live a healthy lifestyle and like to share my better-for-you recipes on my blog. The trouble is, I have a HUGE sweet tooth! I love coming up with recipes like these Peanut Butter Dark Chocolate Bites that can give me my chocolate fix without being too bad for me.
When it comes to dessert, nothing beats peanut butter and chocolate for me! It has to be one of the greatest flavor combinations known to man. And when it’s dark chocolate we are talking about… sign me up!
These bites are the perfect little treat to have on hand whenever a craving strikes. As long as you can avoid eating the whole batch in one sitting, they are a much healthier way to curb your sweet tooth. Just grab one or two from the freezer whenever you need a snack.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup chunky peanut butter
- 1 (8oz) carton Cool Whip
- 2 pieces from a dark chocolate candy bar
Instructions
- Line a baking sheet that will fit in your freezer with parchment paper.
- Place the peanut butter in a mixing bowl. Fold in about half of the Cool Whip and mix until combined.
- Add in the remaining Cool Whip and mix until completely combined.
- Spoon the mixture into a sandwich bag, close the seal and cut off one corner. Squeeze the bag and move in a circle to create a bite that is about 1-inch in diameter. Continue creating the bites until you run out of the peanut butter mixture.
- Use a knife or grater to shave the chocolate over the bites.
- Place in the freezer for 1 hour. If you can resist eating all the bites right away, put the leftovers in a ziploc bag or tupperware and keep in the freezer.
What is your favorite chocolate and peanut butter treat?
