So as you might have been able to tell from my previous posts here, I have a huge sweet tooth. That may even be an understatement. But if I gave into it all the time? It would not be healthy. So I have created sugar free, healthier alternatives to quell those sweet tooth cravings. This one is so simple, it’s stupid. There are four ingredients and it is all to taste. Also, it’s delicious.
Because of a chronic condition I have, at some point during the year, I have to make the choice to cut sugar from diet. It brings my pain level way down which is important. So is dessert. But sometimes the pain wins out. So this past Thanksgiving, I knew I could not eat any of the pumpkin pie related. I haven’t even had a Pumpkin Spice Latte this season (I really need to time this sugar cut better). I made up this little concoction as I was baking pumpkin bars and my mouth was watering. It’s a healthy alternative that filled the craving. I then proceeded to eat this every day since then.
I’m not saying that you shouldn’t enjoy desserts around the holidays or any of the other great food (for me, there are extenuating circumstances). In fact, I think you should indulge now and again. But we all tend to know when we have had our fill of of things that aren’t exactly making our bodies work well. Use this as a way to fill in the gap. It’s filling, protein filled. It even has Omega-3s with the addition of the nuts.
I hope you enjoy my little greek yogurt potion!
