Dark Chocolate Chip Banana Bread

January 27, 2015 By Susannah 3 Comments

Hi friends! I’m Susannah from the blog Feast + West, and I’m a new contributor at My Cooking Spot. On my blog, I share recipes, cocktails, travel guides and the best of design. I love food that tells a story or sends you on a walk down memory lane, and I look forward to sharing it with you.

Though I get along well with most foods, bananas bring out my fickleness. I buy a bunch every so often, and I’ll enjoy eating them for a day or two. And then I’ll lose interest — it’s a texture thing — and let them sit on the counter for a few more days to earn their spots. Once they’re almost all the way brown, I get interested again.

That’s because I know that those soon-to-be-rotten yellow fruits are ripe and ready to star in an old favorite — banana bread. I love banana bread for its versatility: You can eat it for breakfast, dessert or even a snack.

Ultimate Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies

January 12, 2015 By Erica Acevedo 1 Comment

A peanut butter lover’s dream! Peanut butter cookies, stuffed with peanuts, chocolate chips, and peanut butter cups make these babies truly ULTIMATE!

Ultimate Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies

I have a love/hate relationship with peanut butter.

Basically, I hate that I love it so much. It’s my go to after the gym when I don’t have a post-workout snack ready, since it’s packed full of protein. It’s also heavy on fat content (even though it’s healthy fat!), which is where the hate comes in, because there are days I could sit down with a spoon and a jar and go to town with no hesitation.

I digress. For that reason, aside from my post-gym snack or a lazy weekday lunch, I usually save it for desserts like these Ultimate Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies!

Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies Made with a Hazelnut Spread from Nocciolata

September 8, 2014 By Madison Wetherill 2 Comments

Ever since I visited Italy almost six years ago now, I have been in love (and obsessed) with hazelnut spreads. My husband loves cookies and could probably eat chocolate chip ones every day for the rest of his life. But I get a little bored with those and I decided I wanted to try to use a delicious hazelnut spread from Nocciolata for a cookie recipe.

Cookies made with oats, chocolate chips and Nocciolata, an organic Italian hazelnut spread.
