Halloween Trail Mix

Halloween Trail Mix // Erin Skinner from The Speckled Palate for My Cooking Spot

With Halloween just around the corner, I’m thrilled about the overabundance of candy in my grocery store.

And with this overabundance of said goodies, I find myself making all kinds of semi-healthy snacks to keep myself from inhaling the entire trick-or-treat candy stash days before costumed children come knocking on our door.

It’s self-preservation, of sorts.

This recipe was born of my love for trail mix and candy corn. A sweet and salty snack is one of my favorites, and this trail mix is a fabulous combination without being too over-the-top sweet or salty!

Here’s how you can make it:

Halloween Trail Mix

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup lightly salted almonds
  • 1/2 cup dry roasted peanuts
  • 1/2 cup candy corn
  • 1/4 cup lightly salted cashew halves and pieces
  • 1/4 cup roasted pumpkin seeds
  • 1/4 cup mini marshmallows

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients in a large bowl, stirring with a spoon until well mixed.
  2. Enjoy immediately... or store in glass jars for up to a week in a cool place like the pantry.
