Christmas is my all time favorite time of year. As a foodie it really is the best food of the year in my opinion. Insane amounts of sweets…its just a heavenly season really. So of course I have to share a holiday recipe that I adore. Ginger cookies with chocolate….YUM! They seriously are yum, and very easy to whip together.
I think one of my favorite guilty pleasures or indulgences is chocolate. I love eating it in every shape, form, or fashion. So naturally this decadent chocolate dessert is one of my go to’s for a show up and show off dessert for company. It is simple, requires a few pantry ingredients and will leave your guests feeling as if they are dining at a fancy restaurant.
The consistency of this cake reminds me of cheesecake and because the chocolate is bittersweet (or even could be semi sweet) it is not an overwhelmingly sweet dessert. However, it is overwhelming decadent, and will leave you needing to eat the first bite in a moment of silence, trust me.
If you are an Italian food lover like me then you will love this recipe. Gnocchi is a soft, pillowy, potato dumpling that can be serves in soups, stir fries, or as a main dish tossed in a delicious sauce of your choice. And let me tell you…I can eat these little dumplings any way they are served! I love them! They have such a unique texture that is unlike pasta but can be eaten in similar ways to pasta. Gnocchi are just simply magical.
Pasta in all shapes, sizes and flavors is my thing. I adore it, and find it to be such a comforting and familiar dish! Can you relate? It seems to be my go to dish when I am tired, cannot think of anything else, or just simple need a pick me up! So this dish meets me in all those places. I often am looking for recipes that offer a meatless option…not because I don’t love meat! I love meat, but going meatless once or twice a week really helps to stretch our newlywed budget! Every little bit helps!
