Cool down this September with a flavorful Blackberry Mint Spritzer. Made with fresh blackberries, mint, simple syrup and ginger ale, this drink will become a fast favorite!
I don’t know what the weather’s like where y’all live, but the summer is still going strong in Texas. Which is why I’m steadfastly refusing anything/everything involving pumpkin and the fall since we’ve got at least another month of summertime.
However, once October hits? It’s gonna be all pumpkin all the time!
But in the meantime… it’s September. And it’s pretty toasty outside. So today, I’m bringing y’all a delicious end-of-summer drink that’s sweet, refreshing and totally delicious.
It also comes together really quick, which makes it the perfect thing to have on hand at a party. Or a happy hour. Oooooooor just at your house for an after work mocktail.
Yes, you read that right. This is a mocktail, so it involves no alcohol, even though I’m sure a little gin or rum would be a delightful addition to this drink.
Which means this Blackberry Mint Spritzer is perfect for anyone who might want an end-of-summer drink that’s a little bit sweet, a little bit tangy and a lot of bit tasty.
Pick up some blackberries from the farmer’s market. Use fresh mint from your garden (or the grocery if you never purchased a mint plant for fear it would take over your yard like me.) Whip up some simple syrup. (It’s totally easy!) Then mix ’em all together, top with ginger ale, and you’ve got a Blackberry Mint Spritzer.
Here’s how I made one of these beauts:
Ingredients
- 10 mint leaves
- 10 blackberries
- 2 tablespoons simple syrup
- 6 oz. ginger ale
- Ice
Instructions
- In a large glass, muddle the mint leaves and blackberries.
- Pour the simple syrup into the muddled ingredients and stir.
- Add the ice.
- Pour in the ginger ale, and enjoy immediately.
Do you have a favorite end-of-summer drink?
