With Halloween just around the corner, I’m thrilled about the overabundance of candy in my grocery store.
And with this overabundance of said goodies, I find myself making all kinds of semi-healthy snacks to keep myself from inhaling the entire trick-or-treat candy stash days before costumed children come knocking on our door.
It’s self-preservation, of sorts.
This recipe was born of my love for trail mix and candy corn. A sweet and salty snack is one of my favorites, and this trail mix is a fabulous combination without being too over-the-top sweet or salty!
Here’s how you can make it:
Halloween Trail Mix
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup lightly salted almonds
- 1/2 cup dry roasted peanuts
- 1/2 cup candy corn
- 1/4 cup lightly salted cashew halves and pieces
- 1/4 cup roasted pumpkin seeds
- 1/4 cup mini marshmallows
Instructions
- Combine all ingredients in a large bowl, stirring with a spoon until well mixed.
- Enjoy immediately... or store in glass jars for up to a week in a cool place like the pantry.
