Hey y’all! It’s Lauren from Lauren’s Recipe Box and I have been so excited to share these incredible and gorgeous scones with you guys! Filled with cocoa powder, chocolate chips, and walnuts these are anything but your grandmothers scones!!
I remember when I was younger thinking that scones were anything but my favorite sweet treat but this rich and decadent chocolate flavor will make you a believer!
My favorite part about these scones is how easy they are to whip together! Start by mixing the flour, cocoa, baking powder, salt, and sugar in a large bowl until combined. Cut butter into thin pats and mix well into the dry ingredients. Add in the chocolate chips and finely chopped walnuts. In a small bowl mix together the cream, vanilla, and eggs. Pour the wet mixture into the dry mixture and begin to stir together until the dough starts to gather. On parchment paper begin to knead the dough until it is firm enough to shape. Place dough on baking sheet lined with parchment paper and flatten to the desired thickness (mine is about 2 inches thick). Cut the dough into 8 even triangles and bake for 25 minutes.
It’s that easy! Just a few simple steps and you’re on your way to chocolate scone heaven!
P.S. Just don’t forget the milk 😉
