Susannah from Feast + West here with another summer appetizer. It’s just not summer without a few chip-and-dip recipes, if you ask me. Chips, salsa and guac are the quintessential party foods at every summer get-together.
It’s taken me a long time, but I have finally mastered my easy guacamole recipe. It’s quick and only requires a few ingredients, though it’s a good idea to plan ahead when you make guacamole. The key is ripe avocados — they mash the best and give the most flavor — so you’ll need to buy them in advance. (Hint: I always use two forks to mash the avocados into a mostly smooth consistency with a few chunks remaining.)
I never make guacamole without a few standard fixin’s. You’ll need a tomato, a lime, an onion and a couple cloves of garlic. Oh, and salt, pepper and a pinch of seasoning like chipotle or cayenne pepper. Sure, you could add in other ingredients like peppers or cilantro, but these ones are my favorites.
If you’re hosting a big party or even a few friends for taco night, definitely whip up a batch of this easy guacamole. Oh, and that salsa recipe? It’s my Bloody Mary Salsa. I’ve got the recipe over on Feast + West today!
