Strawberry Sweet Tea | Stay cool during the dog days of summer with this refreshing Strawberry Sweet Tea! Singing of strawberries and summertime sweetness, this tea is perfect to sip during a warm afternoon.

The dog days of summer are almost here, and I don’t know about y’all, but I am increasingly spending more and more time indoors because it’s just that hot outside.

Gone are the days of taking leisurely afternoon walks.

Gone are the days of gardening in the sunshine.

If you need me, chances are I’m hiding indoors.

M&M Cookies

July 10, 2015 By Erin Skinner Leave a Comment

These M&M Cookies are the perfect dessert! The miniature sugar cookies are sweet, fluffy and chock full of plain M&M's. @speckledpalate for @mycookingspot

A few weeks ago, I ended up with a ginormous bag of M&M’s at my house.

I was just minding my own business, doing my own thing, and then suddenly, these M&M’s were taking over. I, of course, was eating them like they were going out of style. You know, as one does.

Chunky Fruit Salsa | Simple sweet & tangy fruit salsa you can throw together in 5 minutes! Get the recipe on MyCookingSpot.com!

Happy summer, folks!!

Don’t argue, because it is soooooo summer right now.

I don’t even care if it’s actually still two weeks away, Florida got the memo early, as usual.

We even had an out-of-season tropical system brewing a few weeks ago! I mean, really.

Go home, Mother Nature, you’re drunk.

When I think of summer, I think of sun-hats, cold beer, lazy afternoons by the pool, and all-day picnics by the grill with lots of snacks to keep your tummy full until dinner is ready. I don’t know about you, but I can imagine a big bowl of this Chunky Fruit Salsa right in the middle of everything! [Read more…]

When I was a kid, my dad, sister and I wanted to surprise my mom for Mother’s Day with a homemade Key Lime Pie.

I remember slaving away in the kitchen. We juiced tons of key limes. We prepared the Graham cracker crust. We even made whipped cream.

And when that pie came out of the oven, it looked gorgeous.
