Chunky Fruit Salsa | Simple sweet & tangy fruit salsa you can throw together in 5 minutes! Get the recipe on MyCookingSpot.com!

Happy summer, folks!!

Don’t argue, because it is soooooo summer right now.

I don’t even care if it’s actually still two weeks away, Florida got the memo early, as usual.

We even had an out-of-season tropical system brewing a few weeks ago! I mean, really.

Go home, Mother Nature, you’re drunk.

When I think of summer, I think of sun-hats, cold beer, lazy afternoons by the pool, and all-day picnics by the grill with lots of snacks to keep your tummy full until dinner is ready. I don’t know about you, but I can imagine a big bowl of this Chunky Fruit Salsa right in the middle of everything! [Read more…]

This fruit skewer is juicy, tart, creamy, and spicy all in one bite. They disappeared first at the party!

Hi there! Stephanie here. This is my first contribution to My Cooking Spot, and I really hope you enjoy this recipe as much as I do. If you follow my blog, you’ll know that I grew up in Texas and really, really love Mexican food. I grew up cooking with my friends’ abuelitas, and really can’t get enough of the nuanced style of Mexican and Tex-Mex cooking.

I love me any kind of baked good, especially on the weekend… and especially for breakfast.

As I was thinking about Mother’s Day and all the recipes my family and I have made in celebration of my mom over the years, I realized something: We always made dessert. And our attempts at baking only worked about half of the time, even though our hearts were in the right place.

While I’m sure we made her breakfast, too, I have no recollection of this. At. All.

So today? Today, I’m talkin’ Mother’s Day breakfast and a pretty darn simple baked good that you can whip up in no time to celebrate your mama.

Happy Cinco de Mayo! If you’re looking for an easy and festive dessert to make tonight, you have come to the right place. Mexican hot chocolate is a favorite flavor profile of mine–cinnamon, vanilla, and the heat of cayenne combine with chocolate SO beautifully. I love working that flavor profile into more than just hot chocolate. These Mexican Hot Chocolate Brownies with Dulce de Leche are rich, decadent, and sure to be a hit with your family.

The brownies and the dulce de leche are both incredibly easy to make, using simple ingredients you probably have on hand. I hope you enjoy them! 🙂
