Graham Cracker Butter

August 8, 2016 By Megan Turner 5 Comments

An easy recipe that transforms regular graham crackers into dreamy butter

Graham Cracker Butter

Hi, My Cooking Spot Readers! This is Megan – The Emotional Baker. I’m back again this month with a simple cookie butter recipe.

With school starting back in the next month or two, I thought it would be fun to share this recipe.

Graham Cracker Butter

When I was growing up, my go-to school lunch consisted of a peanut butter sandwich. These days, I frequently return to this easy option. But I sub in almond or cashew butter.

Instead of pairing it with a classic jelly, I love to make my lunches dessert like 😉 Adding a cookie butter and chocolate chips makes for a pretty sweet lunch.

This cookie butter is a slightly better option for satisfying my sweet tooth since it uses graham crackers. Depending on which brand you use, it’s possible to add an adequate serving of whole grains to your diet.

Here are some tips when making this Graham Cracker Butter:

  • If adhering to a vegan diet, be sure to use Graham Crackers made without honey. Nabisco Original Graham Crackers are a good option since they are made with molasses. I’m sure this would be extra delicious if made with homemade vegan graham crackers!
  • For a smoother cookie butter, be sure to process the crackers thoroughly – until fine crumbs form.
  • Add less oil for a thicker butter.

If you’re tired of regular old nut butter sandwiches, this Graham Cracker Butter will really make your lunch shine.

Oh my I’m totally an everything-butter lover (peanut, almond, cookie, cocoa, etc.), but I have never even thought to try this! Such a smart and delicious idea!
