Hi all, happy Monday! It’s Cat from The Rustic Willow here again with another delicious recipe! Right smack dab in the middle of the holiday season, we all tend to get sucked up into the chocolatey desserts, cheesy potatoes, mounds of pasta, and everything else filled with calories and carbs. I’m not going to tell you I avoid these foods, because that would be a blatant lie. But, I do like to start my day off healthy so that I get some nutrients in my bodyfirst, that way I don’t feel quite as bad stuffing my face later.
This smoothie is loaded with kale, which gives me a ton of energy without downing a mug of tea. There are 3 cups of kale in the smoothie (amazing, right?!), 1 banana, and almond milk. Easy, quick, healthy, delicious.
Kale is a superfood, but a lot of the time I hear from people that they don’t like the texture of it. That’s why smoothies are amazing, because the texture of the kale is hidden in the delicious smoothie!
Of course you can get creative with smoothies, and people dream up all sorts of smoothie combinations, but this one is quick & simple for days that you’re on the go.
So, go ahead, munch on those holiday treats… but start your day with this smoothie first :-)!
Ingredients
- 3 cups kale
- 1 banana
- 3/4 cup almond milk
- 1 cup ice
Instructions
- Put all ingredients in blender
- Blend until smoothe
