I loved my Blackberry Mint Spritzer that I had to make another drink with blackberries before the summer was over. (Don’t look at me like I’ve lost my mind. I haven’t — it’s still summertime here.)

This time, thought?

We’re makin’ it with alcohol.

Specifically, wine.

Because why not?

Sangria is the perfect summertime drink: It’s quick to put together. It’s simple (and you can make it with most fruit and wine you’ve got lying around.) And it’s great chilled.

I’ve enjoyed this sangria since it has been scorching outside in Dallas, and the best part of this recipe?

It makes one serving. So if you’re the only one who drinks sangria in your household, you won’t feel obligated to drink an entire jug of the stuff. 😉

Here’s how I made it:

Blackberry Sangria Spritzer

Ingredients

  • 6 blackberries, muddled
  • 4 oz. merlot
  • 1/2 oz. orange liqueur
  • 1/2 oz. simple syrup
  • 6 oz. ginger ale (or club soda -- your call!)
  • Ice

Instructions

  1. Muddle the blackberries in a glass.
  2. Pour the merlot, orange liqueur and simple syrup on top of the blackberries.
  3. Add ice to the cup.
  4. Top with ginger ale.

  1. This recipe looks just as good as your blackberry and mint spritzer! I have to try making a drink with blackberries, they just look so good! Also, love the glasses you used 🙂
