xoxo kids, it’s almost that time of year again. The pressure of creating the perfect Valentine’s Day date is upon us. We got your back. This easy recipe will make you look like a rockstar without breaking the bank. Whip up a pitcher of Valentine’s Day Sangria and order in. That’s actually a perfect night for me, any night.
White Chocolate Valentine’s Bark
Valentine’s Day is one of my favorite holidays. Celebrating love is great and everything…but really its the delicious desserts that make the blogger in me excited!
Holiday desserts are best when they are easy and delicious, so this recipe is perfect. It takes very little prep time, and makes enough to share.
For this crave-worthy treat, all you do is melt your chocolate and pour it over your favorite add-ins. There are so many great Valentine’s candies that would work well. This would also be great for baby or wedding showers. It can be made in almost any color combination or theme. So fun!
This will be our first Valentine’s Day as a married couple! While we were dating, we would go to a great steak restaurant every year (my very favorite type of meal) and he would wine and dine me. Now that we are married, life has slowed down a bit :). We plan on grilling steaks in the backyard and just enjoying being home. I think this would be the perfect sweet treat to have with my sweetie. (Valentine’s Day brings out the mushy in me, I apologize)
This bark was the motivation I needed to sit down and write my Valentine’s card for Pat. A little chocolate always helps with things like that. So do pug cards…those never hurt. [Read more…]
Ginger Pear Cream of Wheat
I’m always on the hunt for new breakfast ideas. Though I could eat a plain bow of cereal every day, sometimes I want something a little different. I’m typically an oatmeal kind-of-girl, but recently discovered how comforting a bowl of Cream of Wheat can be. In this month’s Cooking Light magazine, they shared lots of great shortcuts for meals and I found myself bookmarking practically all of them. I’m all bout shortcuts this month! They shared this great idea to kick up a regular bowl of Cream of Wheat. It couldn’t be easier to prepare. Just sliced pear tossed with some cinnamon and brown sugar and a crushed gingersnap and toasted walnuts on top.
This breakfast is so hearty and will warm you up on those cold mornings. Although it doesn’t have a ton of sugar, it’s just the right amount. The gingersnap cookie also adds a nice crunch and yes, I was tempted to add more like three cookies instead of one!
Trick To Open A Bottle of Wine Without a Cork Screw
Have you ever gone somewhere, remembered the most important part by bringing your wine, but of course, you left your wine opener at home. That has happened to me more times than I can count. I can’t tell you how many wine keys I have had to buy to get a glass of vino out of the bottle.
This video is so fantastic. It shows you how to get that stubborn cork out of the bottle with just a shoe! Yes, a shoe. I have never seen this before, and I am so glad that I did. Now, if I can just get the courage to actually try it out without being too scared that I hit it too hard and shards of glass fly everywhere.
Good luck! It is worth trying I think.
