I’m Jenna from A Savory Feast and today I’m sharing a recipe featuring my go-to flavor this summer: key lime!

I live in sunny Florida where it is HOT this time of year. Lately I’ve been craving frozen desserts like this one to cool off with. Key lime is such a refreshing flavor for summer!

If you haven’t gotten on the no churn ice cream bandwagon yet, you’ve got to give it a try! You don’t need an ice cream machine and it doesn’t take long to mix it up. The hardest part is waiting for it to freeze!

This ice cream is a fun take on the flavors of a key lime pie. It starts with a creamy key lime ice cream base and is loaded with graham cracker crust crumbles and key lime zest for extra flavor.

This sweet treat is sure to be a winner this summer! I know mine disappeared way too quickly. Next time I’ll be making a double batch for sure!

Ingredients

For the graham cracker crust crumbles:
  • 1 tbsp melted butter
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 4 graham crackers, crushed into small pieces
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • For the ice cream:
  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
  • Juice from 2 squeezed key limes
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • Zest from 1 key lime

Instructions

For the graham cracker crust crumbles:
  1. In a small bowl, mix together the butter, vanilla, graham cracker crumbs and sugar. Set aside.
  2. For the ice cream:
  3. Pour the heavy whipping cream into a large bowl for your stand mixer and whip for about 5 minutes or until soft peaks form.
  4. In another large bowl, mix together the sweetened condensed milk and vanilla. Fold the heavy whipping cream into the condensed milk mixture. Mix in the lime juice and about 3/4 of the zest.
  5. Pour about 1/2 of your ice cream mixture into a 9x5 pan. Reserve just a little bit of the graham cracker crumbles and zest for a topping and add 1/2 of what is left to the pan. Swirl together.
  6. Add the rest of the ice cream, crumbles and zest (except for the reserve). Swirl together.
  7. Top with the crumbles and zest you reserved. Cover with foil and freeze for about 6 hours or overnight.
