Bacon-Wrapped Summer BBQ Hot Dogs - skip the forks! | Get the recipe on MyCookingSpot.com!

I love BBQs! I honestly do. In spite of my vehement hatred of almost everything summer, BBQs are the one thing I actually look forward to in warm weather.

I adore the idea of gathering around a big picnic table with friends and family, an array of grilled food before me, beckoning me to indulge in at least one of everything.

There are some days, however, when you want the feel of a summer BBQ without the hassle, and these Bacon-Wrapped Summer BBQ Hot Dogs are an amazing solution for those days! [Read more…]

When the rest of the world has been out splashing in the pool and enjoying the summer weather, I have been laying on the couch watching hours of TV. If you know me at all, this is so NOT my personality! I am still recovering from my first trimester of pregnancy and definitely craving comfort food and lots of rest.

In North Carolina, we have this thing called the Produce Box, where each week you can choose to have a box of produce picked by local farmers delivered to your house. I have been skipping the last few weeks because we have been out of town like crazy. But last week, I accidentally received a box instead of skipping one. It was packed full of leafy greens, cherry tomatoes and strawberries.

The thing about leafy vegetables (and fresh produce in general) is that it can go bad pretty quickly if it’s left unused. So after receiving a whole lot of kale and tomatoes, I tried to think of something I could make to use up the veggies before they went bad.
