I am so excited to introduce to you a new fantastic product: Mezzetta Everything Spread! These spreads are awesome and I wanted to try them all, and I will. I had some unexpected guests let us know that they would be in the neighborhood and wanted to stop by. I needed to serve them a little something, but I also wanted it to be unique, and delicious of course.

I didn’t have much time, but I knew that I could whip up an recipe that everyone would love!

Banana Bread Doughnuts (Gluten & Sugar Free)

March 24, 2015 By Natasha Red Leave a Comment

Since the moment we walked into our apartment from our honeymoon, my husband has been asking for doughnuts. The idea of getting a homemade version of his favorite treat was a huge thrill for him. I pinned away many hours looking for fun new recipes to try, along with the newlywed dinner recipe collecting and home decorating “research” I was doing.

But, despite my recipe collecting, my sweet husband continued to consume greasy, frosted doughnuts from the corner shop for the last couple of years. I didn’t have a doughnut mold! Finally this Christmas I put it on my gift list… as a gift to him of course!

It’s priceless watching his eyes light up as he notices a batch of freshly baked doughnuts on the kitchen counter.

Cinnamon Apple Chips

Cinnamon Apple Chips

Hi all, Cat from The Rustic Willow here. Happy St. Patrick’s Day! I hope you all are eating loads of green things today. I’m here to share a recipe with you that uses green apples–so I guess I’m in the holiday spirit.

I’ve been on such a health kick lately! I think it’s due to the fact that I recently moved to Colorado and everyone has such an active lifestyle here–it’s contagious!

Usually when I try to eat healthier, snacking is my downfall. I can prepare healthy meals all day long, but I’m always craving some ice cream or chocolate. I decided to finally tackle apple chips for a healthy snack instead! I’ve always wanted to try them but I kept putting them off. I’m not sure what I was afraid of, because these are so easy to make!

Oranges, Balsamic Candied Pecans & Herb Salad

March 11, 2015 By Marcella Rose Leave a Comment

Orange and herb salad with lemon vinaigrette

Hi, Marcella Rose here!  I often find that I make some of my most exciting recipes out of necessity.  Needing to use this or that before it goes bad or to make room in the fridge or because “surprise!”, you have guests staying for dinner.  It’s where I shine because you really have to be creative to make it work.

It is a skill that was honed while being a ranch cook 45 miles from anything for 5 years.  I would open up a cook book and decide on a recipe only to find out that we don’t have half the ingredients.  I got really good at substitutions and clever ways around things and it made me feel empowered.  I didn’t need to be limited by recipes. So strict and to the point.  Why not let your palate decide?  You know what you like, what flavor combinations taste best together.  So tonight why not take off the saddle, untie the reins and just run free?  Make something up, be spontaneous, and try something new! Who knows what could happen, you could invent a new favorite dish!
